This collage is one of my early works, where I experimented with combining different sources and styles. I used a public domain photo from Wikipedia and a Renaissance painting to create a contrast between the modern and the classical. The collage depicts a scene of two elderly women in a Cuban market, slicing and selling pork. I wanted to capture the cultural significance of pork as a staple food in Cuba, as well as the contrast between the mundane and the sublime.
