I made this digital collage to show my solidarity with the Cuban artists who have been imprisoned for using the flag as a symbol of their art and freedom. The flag belongs to everyone, not just the government. This is a message that Luis Manuel Otero and others have bravely expressed through their work. I used a Wikipedia photo of a protest, a public domain painting of a Renaissance scene, and my own textures to create this image. The contrast between the past and the present, the calm and the chaos, the unity and the oppression, reflects the situation in Cuba and the need for change.
